Motorola has quietly expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+, the newest device in the company’s Edge 70 series. While the phone shares several similarities with the standard Edge 70 Fusion, the Fusion+ variant brings notable upgrades in the camera department while keeping the same performance-focused hardware.
With a premium display, powerful mid-range chipset, and a large battery, the new device appears designed to strengthen Motorola’s presence in the competitive upper mid-range smartphone segment.
Motorola Expands Its Edge Series
The Edge lineup has been central to Motorola’s modern smartphone strategy, blending stylish designs with capable hardware. The newly unveiled Edge 70 Fusion+ follows that same formula but adds improvements aimed particularly at photography enthusiasts.
One of the biggest highlights of the device is its 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 710 primary camera, which leads a triple-camera system on the back. This refreshed camera setup is positioned as the main upgrade compared with the standard Edge 70 Fusion model.
The phone also continues Motorola’s focus on high refresh rate displays and fast charging technology.
Price And Availability
The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+ has launched in Brazil with a starting price of BRL 2,969, which roughly translates to about ₹52,900.
Currently, the device is listed on Motorola’s official website in a single configuration offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Buyers can choose between two color options: Pantone Orient Blue and Pantone Blue Surf.
For now, the smartphone is available for purchase in Brazil, though the company has not yet confirmed a broader international rollout.
Display And Performance
On the front, the smartphone features a large 6.8-inch Super HD AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1,272 × 2,772 pixels). The screen also supports a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+, making it suitable for smooth gaming, streaming, and everyday usage.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with an Adreno 810 GPU. The phone comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, ensuring strong multitasking performance and ample space for apps and media.
The handset runs Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI layered on top straight out of the box.
Triple Camera System With Sony Sensor
Motorola has placed a clear focus on photography with the Edge 70 Fusion+. The phone includes a triple rear camera setup built around the 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 primary sensor, which supports optical image stabilization and Ultra Pixel technology for improved image clarity.
Alongside the main sensor, the phone features a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view, making it useful for landscapes and group shots.
The third camera is a 10MP telephoto lens that supports 3x optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom for capturing distant subjects.
For selfies and video calls, Motorola has included a 50MP front camera, which is capable of recording 4K video.
Battery, Charging And Durability
The smartphone houses a 5,200mAh battery, which supports 68W TurboPower fast charging. This combination should provide all-day battery life along with quick charging when needed.
Connectivity options on the device include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C. The phone also supports dual SIM functionality with both Nano-SIM and eSIM compatibility.
Motorola has also emphasized durability with IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering strong protection against dust and water.
The phone features a glass fibre reinforced polymer back panel, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and face recognition support for security.
Despite its large display and battery, the device remains relatively slim, measuring 7.21mm thick and weighing around 177 grams.
Final Words
With the Edge 70 Fusion+, Motorola appears to be doubling down on its strategy of delivering strong performance and premium features in the upper mid-range segment. The addition of the Sony LYTIA camera sensor, a fast AMOLED display, and a large battery make the phone a compelling option for users who want flagship-style features without the highest price tag.
If the device expands beyond Brazil in the coming months, it could become a serious contender in the competitive Android smartphone market.
