Galaxy S27 Could Jump to 2nm Snapdragon Chips as Samsung–Qualcomm Deal Continues

The long-running partnership between Samsung and Qualcomm doesn’t look like it’s slowing down anytime soon. In fact, if recent hints and leaks are anything to go by, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 lineup could take a major leap forward — especially in terms of performance and efficiency — thanks to next-gen Snapdragon processors built on a 2nm process.

Qualcomm recently teased its continued collaboration with Samsung through a social media post that, while short, said quite a lot between the lines. The company highlighted how Snapdragon chips have powered multiple Galaxy S generations and ended with a message hinting that “more is coming.” It may not be an official announcement, but in tech language, that’s usually as close as it gets before the leaks start filling in the gaps.

And those leaks are already painting a pretty detailed picture. Reports suggest Qualcomm is preparing two flagship chipsets — Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and a more powerful Pro version. Both are expected to be manufactured by TSMC using a 2nm process, which could bring noticeable gains in both speed and power efficiency. That’s important because as smartphones become more powerful, managing heat and battery life becomes just as critical as raw performance.

Under the hood, these chips are expected to use a 2+3+3 CPU structure based on Qualcomm’s custom Oryon cores. That might sound technical, but what it basically means is better multitasking and smarter performance distribution across tasks. On the graphics side, the standard version could feature an Adreno 845 GPU, while the Pro variant may push things further with an Adreno 850 GPU — something that could directly impact gaming and heavy visual workloads.

Where things get a bit uncertain is Samsung’s usual dual-chip strategy. Traditionally, the company splits its flagship lineup between Snapdragon and its own Exynos chips depending on the region. That approach is expected to continue, with some Galaxy S27 variants possibly using the upcoming Exynos 2700, while others stick with Snapdragon. But there’s also a chance Samsung might standardise more models around Snapdragon this time — especially if the performance gap widens.

The spotlight, however, is clearly on the Ultra model. Early leaks suggest the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra could feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, positioning it as a true top-tier device. If that happens, the Ultra variant might once again become the go-to option for users who want the absolute best hardware Samsung can offer.

At this stage, nothing is officially confirmed, but the direction is pretty clear. The combination of Samsung’s flagship hardware and Qualcomm’s next-gen silicon — especially built on a 2nm process — could result in one of the biggest performance jumps we’ve seen in recent Galaxy devices.
