Realme has officially launched the Realme 16 5G in Vietnam, quietly adding a powerful new contender to its mid-premium smartphone lineup. While the company hasn’t confirmed its India launch yet, the specifications suggest this phone is clearly being positioned for wider global markets in the coming weeks.
With a massive battery, high-refresh AMOLED display, and extreme water-resistance ratings, the Realme 16 5G is shaping up to be one of the most feature-packed phones in its segment.
Realme 16 5G Price and Variants
In Vietnam, the Realme 16 5G is available in two configurations:
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – VND 11,490,000 (around ₹40,000)
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – VND 12,490,000 (around ₹44,000)
The phone comes in Black Cloud and White Swan colour options. Realme has not yet revealed pricing or availability details for India or other regions.
Display and Design
The Realme 16 5G features a 6.57-inch Full HD+ flexible AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth scrolling and gaming performance. The screen delivers:
- 1,080 × 2,372 resolution
- 397ppi pixel density
- 93% screen-to-body ratio
- Up to 4,200 nits peak brightness
- 240Hz touch sampling rate
It is protected by DT Star D+ glass, and the overall design remains slim despite the massive battery, with a thickness of just 8.1mm.
Performance and Software
Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The device supports up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, making it capable of handling multitasking and demanding apps comfortably.
On the software side, the Realme 16 5G runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0 layered on top.
Camera Setup
The smartphone sports a dual rear camera system:
- 50MP primary sensor with autofocus
- 2MP monochrome sensor
On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera, which is unusual for this segment and should appeal to content creators.
Camera features include Night mode, Portrait, Cinematic mode, Slow Motion, Dual-View Video, and more.
Battery, Durability and Extras
One of the biggest highlights is the 7,000mAh battery, supported by 60W wired fast charging and reverse charging. Despite the battery size, the phone weighs around 183 grams, which is relatively light.
The Realme 16 5G also stands out for its durability, boasting IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K ratings—making it resistant to dust, high-pressure water jets, and extreme conditions.
Additional features include:
- In-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
- Face unlock
- Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C
- Multi-system navigation support (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS)
- Infrared control and a wide range of onboard sensors
Final Words
The Realme 16 5G brings together premium-grade durability, a massive battery, and a bright AMOLED display in a surprisingly slim body. While its pricing places it in the upper mid-range category, the feature set suggests Realme is aiming squarely at power users who want endurance and performance without stepping into flagship pricing.
Whether and when it arrives in India remains to be seen—but on paper, this is easily one of Realme’s most ambitious launches in recent times.
