Lava is doubling down on the budget segment. The company has officially launched the Lava Yuva Star 3 in India, bringing a large display, decent battery size, and splash resistance — all under ₹8,000.
This new handset arrives as the successor to the Lava Yuva Star 2, which debuted last year.

Lava is also offering a one-year warranty and doorstep after-sales service, which has become one of the brand’s key selling points in the budget market.
📱 Display & Performance
The Lava Yuva Star 3 runs on Android 15 Go Edition and sports a 6.75-inch HD+ (720×1600) display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Unisoc SC9863A octa-core processor, paired with:
- 4GB RAM (expandable up to 8GB via virtual RAM)
- 64GB internal storage
For this price segment, the 90Hz refresh rate is a welcome touch — though the chipset clearly positions it for basic daily use like calling, browsing, YouTube, and light apps.
📸 Cameras
On the back, the phone features a 13-megapixel AI-supported primary camera.
For selfies and video calls, there’s a 5-megapixel front camera.
It also comes with an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust and splashes — something not always common at this price point.
🔋 Battery & Other Features
- Battery: 5,000mAh
- Charging: 10W
- Claimed Backup: Up to 30 hours talk time, 340 hours standby
Other features include:
- Side-mounted fingerprint sensor

The phone measures 164.9 x 76.1 x 8.5mm and weighs 193.7g.
🧐 Should You Care?
At ₹7,499, the Lava Yuva Star 3 is clearly targeting first-time smartphone buyers and users upgrading from older entry-level devices. The big screen, 5,000mAh battery, and IP64 rating add practical value — though performance expectations should remain realistic.
If your needs are basic and budget is tight, this one checks the essential boxes without stretching your wallet.
